Rules of Play

How does TopGamersZone work?

At TopGamersZone, we want all members to have the best possible online gaming experience and recognise that trust is a key component to this. We encourage everyone to act with honesty and integrity at all times and in support of this have in place a unique Member Integrity scoring system and automated result dispute handling process.

In addition, we have put in place the 'TGZ Rules of Play' which clearly outline each members' responsibilities when competing in any of our game zones.

For a ‘step by step' guide on how the site works check out our About Us page.

General Rules:

1. It is the responsibility of all the users of this site to know and understand the rules.

2. Rules are subject to change at any time, so please check them often

3. Members are not allowed to create or manage more than one team for each game/platform combination.

4. Team names are not able to be changed by the team members. Please submit a ticket to request a team name change. Staff will decide if the requested name is appropriate.

5. Team names, blast messages, logos, avatars, and website link are subject to the Forum Rules

6. All TopGamersZone accounts are property of TopGamersZone Ltd. Any advertising of, or attempts to buy, sell, trade, or exchange an account by any means is strictly prohibited and violators will be banned from all TopGamersZone websites and all related accounts terminated.

7. In ‘Team' competitions, Team Captains are fully responsible for registering for all competitions and paying any entry fees (game credits) on behalf of their teams.

8. Once a competition becomes active, Team Captains will be fully responsible for checking fixture schedules, negotiating specific match dates/times with opposing teams via the ‘negotiating zone of the site then communicating play dates/times to their team members. They will also be responsible for submitting match results prior to the stated deadlines via the ‘submit results' zone of the site.

9. Where cash prizes are on offer over and above the pot of ‘game credits' the overall prize amount will be split and paid in equal shares directly to each winning team member as per TopGamersZone's normal terms and conditions.

10. Where game credits are on offer as competition prizes in ‘free to join' events, the overall prize credits will be split and paid in equal shares directly into the member accounts of each winning team member.

11. Where the normal competition prizes are on offer (pot of game credits paid as entry fees), winnings will be added to the winning team captain's member account only.

Rosters

1. Team Captains are responsible for creating a 'Team' profile on the site, recruiting / adding team members and entering Team competitions facilitated by the site.

2. Only Teams registered at TopGamersZone.com may perticipate in team competitions facilitated by the site.

3. To engage in team competitions all players must first be registered members of TopGamersZone.com AND be on the Team's roster prior to the start of the competition they are playing in. Any team found abusing this rule will be eliminated from the competition.

4. Team Captains of each competing team are responsible for verifying the eligibility of all players playing in a competition (see Roster Rule 1) prior to starting or continuing any match play. If you believe an ineligible player is participating in the match at any time, you should,.

5. The following outlines our policies on eligible rostered players:

  • Users are permitted to be listed on only one team for each game/platform combination at any time.
  • All roster spots must contain valid gamertags. Spelling and spaces must be exact, but do not need to be case sensitive.
  • Gamertags may not contain foul language, disparaging remarks, hateful or racist names.
  • All gamertags on a team's roster must be valid. Invalid gamertags will be deemed to be ineligible

6. If an ineligible player is participating in the match at any time, the following actions should be taken:

  • complete the match, report the result as a 'win'
  • take adequate proof (screen shot / mobile phone photo) confirming the presence of an ineligible player and submit a grievance by emailing: abuse@topgamerszone.com

Negotiating Matches

1. Once league and tournament fixture lists are produced or head to head challenges are created, ALL matches start in the negotiating stage to allow members the opportunity to agree a specific date/time and location to play their matches prior to the submission deadline.

2. Once members know who their opponents will be, they must agree when and where they will play (i.e. time / game room) using the ‘Negotiating' link in the navigation menu in the ‘Get Gaming' section. Once time/date and locations are agreed they simply need use their PC or games console to go online, link up and play their games. If game rooms are being used and passwords can be set, these should be agreed and communicated beforehand.

3. In Head to Head challenges, there are no time restrictions on how long the negotiations can last. However, for both leagues and tournaments, the time restrictions are determined by the fixtures schedule so members must agree a date/time/location and then play their matches and submit their results prior to the submission deadline stated.

4. Our unique disputes handling process is able to determine whether or not Members have used the on-site negotiating feature to agree play dates/times/locations with their opponents. Members who fail to agree a date/time/location using the negotiation feature will be deemed to have forfeited those matches and will therefore be awarded a 'loss' for those matches but their opponent will be awarded a 'win' provided they have attempted to agree dates/times/locations. In the unlikely event both players fail to use the on-site negotiating feature, they will both be deemed to have forfeited and awarded a loss accordingly

Game Settings

1. For all competitions facilitated by the site, the game's default net play game settings must be used unless both members expressly agree otherwise unless settings for a specific game title state otherwise.

2. In team competitions, randomised maps MUST be used unless specifically stated otherwise in the TGZ game specific settings.

3. It is the responsibility of both players (each team Captain in team events) to ensure the game settings are correct, and by playing in, and completing the match, you accept the game settings set by the host.

(Games with settings different to default settings can be found at the bottom of this page)

Match Play

1. ALL matches must be played in their entirety and will work on a ‘best of three' basis so members will need to play a minimum of two games back to back to determine an overall winner. In the unlikely event the overall outcome after three matches can't determine a winner, (eg. Win, Loss Draw), members should continue to play games until somebody wins - effectively sudden death.

2. Player 1 as detailed in the competition fixtures schedule should host the first match and Player 2 the second match. If additional matches are required, hosting should alternate until an ultimate winner is determined.

3. A "Lag Test" must be completed prior to starting a match. This is a test round that doesn't count and uses the standard game settings that will be used during the match. If the game lags during this test, a new host must be chosen. If after a match has started there is too much lag, both players must agree to restart the match with a change of host. Any player refusing to agree a new host will be deemed to have forfeited.

4. If a player/host disconnects during the initial launch of the game, the game will be restarted. If a player/host disconnects after the game has started, that player/host forfeits that match

5. If, in a team competition, a player disconnects after a match has started, the game will continue and the player may be re-invited. The only exception to this rule is for a "Kill Dependent Game Mode". A "Kill Dependent Game Mode," often referred to as Deathmatch, Sharpshooter or Slayer, is a game mode whose winner is decided by the overall number of kills, or points gained through kills. A Team who loses a player during this game mode, after the first kill has occurred, forfeits that map.

6. Players may not delay the match for more than 5 minutes between each round. A round is defined as a stopping point during the match when match settings may be altered, and/or players may switch sides or change equipment.

No Shows

1. Failure to show for an accepted match will result in a forfeit.

2. A player/team has 15 minutes to show-up with the required number of eligible players indicated in the match details, and be ready to start the match. Failure to do so will result in a forfeit.

3. To receive a no-show win, you must submit your result as a ‘win' in the submissions zone prior to the match submission deadline.

Reporting / Submitting Results

1. All agreed matches must be played and results submitted via the TopGamersZone site by no later than the submission deadline specified.

2. If your opponent was a ‘no show' you should submit your results as a ‘win'.

3. If only one Member has submitted results before the deadline, that submission will be used to award points/credits.

4. In the event both competing members fail to submit a result within the deadline stated, they will both be eliminated from the competition in the case of knock-out stages of tournaments (normal & 1day) or, in the case of leagues or group stage of normal tournaments, be awarded zero points and in head to head challenges the match will be nul and void.

5. In the unlikely event submitted results across any competition can't be reconciled, the match outcome is automatically put into ‘dispute'. Depending on which competition is being played, different rules for handling disputes, as detailed below, will apply:

a) Disputes in Leagues: If the results submitted by two members following a league match can't be reconciled, TopGamersZone will award each member a draw (1 point). If any single member has a second instance where their submitted result can't be reconciled, they will again be awarded a draw (1 point). However, if that same member has any further instances where their submitted results can't be reconciled, they will be awarded a loss (0 points) and will continue to be awarded a loss at every future instance for the duration of that league.

b) Disputes in Tournaments - Group Stages: If the results submitted by two members following a tournament group match can't be reconciled, TopGamersZone will award each member a draw (1 point). If any single member has a second instance where their submitted result can't be reconciled, they will again be awarded a draw (1 point). However, if that same member has any further instances where their submitted results can't be reconciled, they will be awarded a loss (0 points) and will continue to be awarded a loss at every future instance for the duration of the group stage of that tournament.

c) Disputes in Tournaments - Knock Out Stages: If the results submitted by two members following a tournament group match can't be reconciled, TopGamersZone will determine whether or not either member had any disputes during the group stages. If any single member had any disputes during the group stages but their opponent didn't, the member with previous disputes will be awarded a loss and therefore be eliminated. If both members had any disputes during the group stages, TopGamersZone will then look at the current ‘Integrity Score' of each member and the member with the lower integrity score will be awarded a loss and therefore be eliminated. In the unlikely event both members had disputes in the group stages and the same integrity scores, TopGamersZone will determine the skill level of each member and the member with the lower skill level will be awarded a loss and therefore eliminated.

d) Disputes in One Day Tournaments: If the results submitted by two members following a one day tournament match can't be reconciled, TopGamersZone will determine the ‘Integrity Score' of each member and the member with the lower integrity score will be awarded a loss and therefore be eliminated. In the unlikely event both members have the same integrity scores, TopGamersZone will determine the skill level of each member and the member with the lower skill level will be awarded a loss and therefore eliminated.

e) Disputes in Head to Head Challenges: If the results submitted by two members following a head to head match can't be reconciled, TopGamersZone will refund the entry fees paid to each member and the match result becomes VOID.

Cheating

1. The use of any communications other than what is provided within the game is prohibited.

2. We have a zero tolerance policy for cheating, and players/teams are subject to penalties if they are found cheating.

3. "Glitching" and exploiting any in-game mechanics in any way is not tolerated.

Grievances

1. To raise a formal grievance contact abuse@topgamerszone.com and provide details of the issue(s) and attach all evidence to support your claim.

2. Any grievances relating to issues that are already catered for in our automated submission reconciliation and disputes handling process will not be processed.

3. Grievances submitted that do not include proof of the issue will not be progressed.

4. All admin decisions are final. If you would like your case looked into again due to new evidence, feel free to submit another ticket, but doing so without additional evidence is argumentative and you risk your team being subject to penalties.

Proof

1. Screen shots, digital photos, mobile phone photos/videos capturing the issue as well as the date/time, gamertags of all parties is the only evidence TopGamersZone will accept.

2. Proof should be attached to the grievance email along with a summary of the issue being raised and sent to us at: abuse@topgamerszone.com.

3. For all glitch and cheating claims, the burden of proof is on the accuser. To submit a glitch and/or cheating claim, you must raise a grievance and include the proof. We encourage all members to utilise the ‘sportmanship' feedback feature to reflect gameplay experiences.
