I'm Ready to Play, now what? Get Gaming!

There are three ways members can compete - Head to Head Challenges, Competitive Leagues or Tournament Play, each having its own ‘zone' within the site.

Head to Head challenge matches are generated by Members but League and Tournament matches are generated by the Site and all are available to Members 24/7.

Within the 'Get Gaming' area in the navigation menu there are various 'zones' to make it easy for members to buy credits, negotiate/agree a date/time and location to play matches, view matches they are scheduled to play, create head to head challenges, join leagues and tournaments and these 'zones' are explained in more detail below.

Buy Credits

This is where you go to purchase game credits which you will need to enter Competitive Leagues and Tournaments or bet against other members in Head to Head Challenges. All credit purchases can be made via credit card or bank transfer using PayPal and therefore completely secure.

Negotiating Zone

Once a Head to Head Challenge is created or leagues and tournaments fixture lists are produced, ALL matches start in the negotiating stage to allow members the opportunity to agree a specific date/time and location to play their matches prior to the submission deadline. In the 'negotiating' zone members can message each other to agree date/time & location to ensure all matches are played prior to the submission cut-off.

In Head to Head challenges, there are no time restrictions on how long the negotiations can last. However, for both leagues and tournaments, the time restrictions are determined by the fixtures schedule so members must agree a date/time/location and then play their matches and submit their results prior to the submission deadline stated.

Our unique disputes handling process is able to determine whether or not Members have used the on-site negotiating feature to agree play dates/times/locations with their opponents. Members who fail to agree a date/time/location using the negotiation feature will be deemed to have forfeited those matches and will therefore be awarded a 'loss' for those matches but their opponent will be awarded a 'win' provided they have attempted to agree dates/times/locations. In the unlikley event both players fail to use the on-site negotiating feature, they will both be deemed to have forfeited and awarded a loss accordingly.

My Matches Zone

This is where you can view all of your matches. You can see matches you're due to play today, matches scheduled in the future or review past matches you've already played in.

Challenge Zone

Within the Challenge Zone, Members can post two types of challenges - Open challenges to all members or private challenges to specific members of members in their friends list.

To post a challenge, members must click the ‘create a challenge' link which will open the challenges page. From this page, use the drop box to select the type of challenge you want to post - friend, public, user - then click submit. If you select friend or user, you will be taken to the relevant page where you can select a specific opponent which will then take you to the ‘create a challenge form'. If you select ‘open' you will be taken directly to the ‘create a challenge' form.

Use the ‘create a challenge' form to select the game/platform you wish to make a challenge on then specify what amount of credits you want to play for. If you input ‘zero' the challenge will be treated as a friendly and no credits will be deducted from either competitor.

If you enter an amount in the ‘credit amount' box, The ‘fee' will be automatically deducted from your member account as soon as the challenge is posted and from your opponent's member account as soon as they accept a challenge. In the event the challenge isn't accepted, the credits will be refunded.

After entering a credit amount, specify the preferred date and time you'd like to play the match and use the text box at the bottom of the form to propose a location - i.e. game room, etc.

You can also view all open challenges in this zone by clicking the 'View Open Callenges' link aand decide if you want to accept any challenges available.

Leagues Zone

Members can join competitive leagues for games/platforms they have registered with the site at any time provided they meet the minimum member integrity score and skill level requirements. To ensure our leagues are as fair and competitive as possible, Members can only join leagues at a skill level equal to or above their own but can not join leagues below their own skill level. To find out what leagues are available go to the ‘League Zone' and you will see a list of all available leagues. The minimum number of players required before any league can start is 10 but the maximum allowed is unlimited.

Leagues will work on a group table basis and points will be awarded for wins (3pts). Each league participant will be required to play all of their scheduled matches and feedback their game results via the ‘submit' link in the Leagues zone after playing their fixtures.

To join a league, simply click on ‘Leagues Zone' in the navigation menu to view all available leagues. If you see a league you want to join simply click the 'join league' link and this will take you to the League sign-up form. The name of the game/platform and credit entry fee will be noted. To enter the league click submit - the credit entry fee will automatically be deducted from your member account and the main screen within the ‘League Zone' will be updated to show which leagues you've signed up to.

Once all places have been filled / joining cut-off time has passed, a fixtures schedule will be produced detailing matches each league competitor must play over the ‘season' and this will be displayed in the league zone of the site.

*In every competitive league TopGamersZone hosts, the top 33% participating will win back their entry fee. In addition, the top 3 people would split the remainder of the pot with 60% going to first place, 30% going to second place and 10% to third place. So if there are 20 people participating in a league and they each paid an entry fee of 20 credits, the total ‘pot' would be 400 credits. The top 33% (6 members) would get their entry fee back (120 credits) which would then leave a remaining pot of 280 credits which would be split 60/30/10 between the members finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. If only 3 people participated with the same entry fees paid, the person finishing in 1st would receive 100% of the pot.

There are links in the ‘League Zone' page to help you navigate your way through the various stages of the competition and these are as follows:

Fixtures: Where you can see a list of all scheduled matches for the entire league. To view your own matches only, go to the 'my matches' section of the site.

Rankings: Where you can see your overall ranking within the league

Tournament Zone

TopGamersZone will host a number of tournaments (Normal & One-Day) across various game titles and platforms which will be open to all members who have registered those games/platforms with the site and who meet the minimum integrity score requirements. To find out what tournaments are available go to the ‘Tournament Zone' and you will see a list of all available tournaments. The minimum number of players required before any tournament can start is 8 but the maximum allowed is unlimited.

Normal Tournaments work in two stages: a single group stage then knock-out rounds.

At the outset, all participants will be pulled into a single group and a tournament fixtures schedule will be produced which, depending on the overall number of participants, will require every member to play a minimum of three matches. Participants will be awarded three points (3 pts) for every win and zero points (0 pts) for a loss. Points won in the initial group stage of each tournament will determine who advances to the knock-out stages. The exact number going through will differ depending on the overall number of participants but on average, the top 33% will progress to the knock-out stages where they will compete in a 50/50 knock-out competition. In the unlikley event the number of players on level points exceeds the number that should advance to the knock-out stages of a tournament, integrity score, skill level then, if necessary, first to have joined the site, will be used to determine who progresses to the knock-out stages.

Thereafter, winners from each 50/50 competition will advance to subsequent knock-out stages until an overall tournament winner is determined.

Remember, the time restrictions for submitting results are determined by the fixtures schedule so you need to agree the date/time/location and then play your matches and submit your results prior to the submission deadline stated. Any members who fail to feedback their results prior to the deadline will be deemed to have forfeited and therefore, in the group stages, be awarded a loss and in the knock-out stages, be eliminated therefore losing their entry fee.

One-Day Tournaments work strictly on a 50/50 knock-out basis.

At the outset, all participants will be pulled into a single group and drawn against an opponent which will be visible in the tournament fixtures schedule. Unlike normal tournaments, matches in one-day tournaments must be played and results submitted by no later than the submission deadline stated - there is no 'negotiating' feature. Please use the site's internal messaging feature to agree a specific game room/location and time with your opponent. Submitted results will be updated in the tournament rankings / subsequent round fixtures once the match deadline has passed. Remember, as in normal tournaments, membrs who fail to feedback results prior to the submission deadline will be deemed to have forfeited and will be awarded a loss and therefore eliminated from the tournament.

To join a tournament, simply click on the ‘Signup' link at the right side of the table and this will take you to the Tournament sign-up form - the name of the Tournament, game/platform and credit entry fee will be noted. To enter the tournament click submit. The credit entry fee will then be automatically deducted from your member account and the main screen within the ‘Tournament Zone' will be updated to show which tournaments you've signed up to.

Once all places have been filled / joining cut-off time has passed, a fixtures schedule will be produced detailing matches each tournament competitor must play over the ‘season' and this will be displayed in the tournament zone of the site.

There are links in the ‘Tournament Zone' page to help you navigate your way through the various aspects of the competition and these are as follows:

Fixtures: Where you can see a list of all scheduled matches for the entire tournament. To view you own matches only, go to the 'My Matches' section of the site.

Rankings: Where you can see your overall ranking within the tournament

Submit Results

This is where you need to go to submit the results for all matches you play.

Member Integrity Scores and What they Mean?

Every TopGamerZone Member has an ‘integrity Score' from the first time the play a match via the site. This ‘Integrity Score' can be used by Members to select opponents and will be used by the site to set league and tournament entry criteria to help ensure ALL Members get the best possible gaming experience at all times. Its easy to see just how important the ‘Member Integrity' score is and how if forms a key part of each member's overall profile when you read on below.

The best possible score any Member can get is 100% and the worse is 0%. Member Integrity Scores are shown next to every Member's user ID and act as a symbol of trust and experience in the TopGamersZone Community. The higher the Integrity Score, the more positive gaming experiences the Member has been involved in.

Every time the result a Member submits doesn't match with the result their opponent has submitted, a ‘dispute' notice against that both Members is logged by TopGamersZone. We then take the percentage of games that Member has played where no ‘dispute notices were raised and subtract the percentage of games where a ‘dispute notice' was logged to work out the ‘Member Integrity' Score. So if Member X played 100 games and had 10 dispute notices raised, the percentage of games with no ‘dispute notices raised would be 90% and the percentage of games with a ‘dispute notice' would be 10%. We would then take 90% minus 10% and give that Member an ‘Integrity Score' of 80% - pretty good eh? However, if Member X had played the same 100 games but had 30 ‘dispute notices', we would take 70% minus 30% and give them a ‘Member Integrity' Score of 40% - not so good! What about brand new members? Well, it works for them too. If new Member X only played one game but had zero ‘dispute notices' raised, we would take 100% minus 0% which would give them a ‘Member Integrity' score of 100% - fantastic!

In addition to the ‘Member Integrity' score, Members can rate their opponent's sportsmanship everytime they submit match results. After posting results via the site, members will be directed to a feedback form where they can rate their opponent's sportsmanship on a scale of 0% to 100% to reflect their gameplay experience.

These ‘Sportsmanship' ratings and will automatically appear within the opponent User Profile. Every member will be able to review other members' Sportsmanship, Skill and Integrity scores before making or accepting head to head challenges and TopGamersZone will use these Sportsmanship scores when handling match result disputes.

How do you know who won or lost

Once members have connected via their respective platforms and played their game, they must submit their game results via TopGamersZone.com using the ‘Submit' link in the respective game zone (Challenge, League, Tournament).

TopGamersZone will then collate the submissions, confirm they agree, then update the match results on the site. In the case of Head to Head Challenges, TopGamersZone will then deposit the total number of credits won into the winner's member account or allocate the correct number of points to the league/tournament table. Once a league ‘season' or tournament competition has ended and all results are confirmed, TopGamersZone will deposit the total number of credits won into each winner's member account.

In the unlikely event submitted results across any competition can't be reconciled, the match outcome is automatically put into ‘dispute'. Depending on which competition is being played, different rules for handling disputes apply.

How much money can players win?

There are no restrictions on the amount of money members can win, other than their own skills and abilities to win matches. The size of the prize ‘pot' is determined by the total number of members who join a competition (league/tournament) and the size of the credit entry fee. So, if the credit entry fee is 10 credits and the tournament has 20 players, the total prize ‘pot' would be 200 credits. In the Head to Head competitions, members making challenges determine the amount of credits they are willing to play for when they post a challenge and when another member accepts it, they too are agreeing to that amount. So, if someone raises a head to head challenge for 500 credits their member account would be debited by that amount. As soon as another member accepts that challenge, their member account would also be debited 500 credits making the overall ‘pot' 1000 credits which would be awarded to the winner.

Compete4Cash!!

There are no restrictions on the amount of game credits members can purchase and members are free to ‘cash in' their credits at any time. TopGamersZone will buy back Game Credits (GCs) at any time at a price of £0.068 per credit. Please allow up to 10 working days for funds to credit your bank account.
